BISHOP GARRIGAN HIGH SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

June, 2008

BGHS admits students and hires staff without regard to race, national origin, gender, or disability.

Attention Class of 2009

Two billfold-size, color, head and shoulder graduation photos are needed for the yearbook and newspaper.  They will not be returned to the student.  These must be formal pictures in dress attire.  Informal pictures will not be used.  Students must follow the school policy:  boys may not wear earrings and must be clean shaven.  Photos must be delivered to Miss McCall by January 30, 2009.

HOMECOMING 2008

Homecoming 2007 will be September 14 - 19.  The newly elected student council has already been making plans for the event.  Royalty will be elected shortly after school starts in the fall.

Scrip News

We are having record-breaking weeks, averaging over $52,500 in purchases.  This gives Seton and BGHS families who use scrip over $3,000 a week in tuition credit.  Gas gift cards at 3% yield about 11 cents a gallon for tuition; a 5% card yields about 16 cents a gallon.  Groceries at 3% also add up.

Watch the summer schedule for your purchases.  Mark where you would like your filled order to be picked up:  L'Marie's, Sheree's Hallmark, or BGHS.  If not marked, the order will be at Sheree's Hallmark.

We would like help with filling orders on Thursdays at 1pm at the BGHS board room.  Bring a friend or your student to help.  It usually takes an hour or so.  Thank-you to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schaaf, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kisch, and Dr. and Mrs. Jerry Shey, who have volunteered to pick up gift cards.

From the Theology Department

For incoming freshmen and anyone who needs to be confirmed, we will have an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 3, at 6:30pm in Friedmann Auditorium.  Forms and schedules will be handed out.  Mr. Rob Meister and I would like to thank the senior class for all the service to school, community, and church.  We hope everyone has a holy and happy summer vacation.
