Our Christian Leadership group has begun doing their service projects.

We ask for your prayers for our school.

God bless.

WEBSITE

Remember, we welcome pictures from school events for use on the school website.  This fall there have been some complaints that not all school events have been covered equally in pictures.  That is because we can't post pictures if we don't have them.  We have been provided with pictures for some sports, but there are others (such as football) where very few pictures have been available.

We encourage parents and friends of the school who have activity pictures to e-mail them to webmaster David Burrow at burrowd@garrigan.pvt.k12.ia.us.  Not all pictures that are submitted can be used, but we welcome any contributions you have.

Rating numbers:  1 - outstanding, 2 - above average, 3 - average, 4 - below average, 5 - unsatisfactory.

BGHS coach rating was 1.33 (state average 1.40); player rating was 1.30 (state average 1.36), spectator rating was 1.78 (state average 1.52).

The ratings are done by game officials and are meant to be used as a guide to help evaluate the sportsmanship in each school.

Catholic Choral Festival

The vocal music department at Garrigan will be participating in the annual Sioux City Diocesan Catholic Choral Festival on Wednesday, October 3.  This year's festival will be hosted by Kuemper Catholic High School in Carroll.  Participating schools, in addition to Bishop Garrigan, include Remsen St. Mary's, Le Mars Gehlen, Sioux City Heelan, Granville Spalding, Fort Dodge St. Edmond, and Carroll Kuemper.

Approximately 350 students will perform in the festival.  In addition to the massed chorus pieces, many of the schools will present a special performance by their own ensembles, including Garrigan's a cappella choir.

The afternoon rehearsals will conclude with a concert at 7pm in the Kuemper High School gymnasium.  Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for senior citizens and students.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
