Eligibility

To be eligible for all activities, the following requirements must be adhered to:

1)  You must meet all academic requirements as follows:

First Quarter:

At the end of the first five weeks, failure, poor work and good work notices will be sent to parents.  Any student who receives two or more failing notices will be on probation for a two week period, during which time the student is obligated to remove all of the deficiencies by improvement.  If improvement is not made in deficient subjects, then he/she is ineligible for the remainder of the quarter.

During probationary status, a student may or may not be eligible to continue with practices or rehearsals depending upon the unique requirements of the activity(ies) involved.  This decision will be at the discretion of the coach or director of that activity.

At the end of the first quarter, any student failing two or more subjects is ineligible for the second quarter.

Second Quarter:

At the end of the first five weeks of the second quarter, failure, poor and good work notices will be sent to parents.  Any student who receives two or more failing notices will be on probation for a two week period, during which time the student is obligated to remove all the deficiencies by improvement.  If improvement is not made in deficient subjects, then he/she is ineligible for the remainder of the quarter.

End Of First Semester:

Any student failing more than two courses is ineligible for the third quarter.

Third Quarter:

Rules for eligibility are the same as for the first quarter.

Fourth Quarter:

Rules for eligibility are the same as for the second quarter.

End Of Second Semester:

Any student failing two or more courses is ineligible for the next quarter/seasonal activity.

2)  You must meet the attendance requirements as follows:

You must be in attendance in school for the entire day.  Exceptions to this regulation are absence for a school field trip, medical appointments, campus privilege, or other extenuating circumstances approved in advance by the Principal or Activities Director.

3)  You must not be in violation of the Substance Abuse Policy listed later on this handbook.

4)   Detentions:

Those students who receive two pink slip violations for grave disrespect, refusal to cooperate, or damage to school property become ineligible for one week of activity.  Ineligibility will run from Monday through Sunday.  On a second violation of this rule, the student will again be ineligible for one week.  This regulation will run for nine weeks, renewable for the following nine weeks.
