Brad Nelson of the Nashville Sounds Brad will be in Omaha on July 7-10, & in Des Moines on July 18-20.
Brad Nelson holds many of the Golden Bear baseball records. After graduating from High School, he was drafted in the 4th round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. Since 2001 he has been making his way through the minor leagues, playing for the following teams:
Brad was named an all-star player and won the league home run derbies in both the A-level Midwest League (2002) and AA Southern League (2004). In 2005 he was part of the Nashville Sounds team that won the AAA Pacific Coast League championship, and in 2006 his Huntsville Stars team won their division championship and made the Southern League finals. He has consistently been one of the Brewers' top ten prospects, according to Baseball America. While he was a pitcher and shortstop in high school, he has played both first base and outfield in his professional career. He began the 2007 season playing first base for AAA Nashville. |
