Basketball Seating for BGHS Home Games
Basketball season gets in full swing this week for the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears! It is exciting to cheer on the Bears. Let's make the game fun for all who are able to attend!
We have received information pertaining to seating for Seton students at the Bishop Garrigan High School home basketball games. Because radio personnel will be on the stage as well as our elderly fans, the following changes have been made:
1. ON THE STAGE: Grade 1-6 students may sit on the stage. Kindergartners and preschools will sit with their parents. Students on the stage will need to remain there until the end of each quarter. They may not run back and forth. If they are unable to remain independently on the stage for that length of time, it would be best if they sit with you (within arm's reach). Adults are to sit in the stands, unless they are chaperoning all of the students on the stage.
2. IN THE STANDS: Gr. 7-8 students may sit in the LOWER bleachers behind the high school students on the east end of the gym. No students are to sit in the upper bleachers or any other area of the lower bleachers unless they are sitting with their parents (within arm's reach). Misbehavior or treating others unkindly will result in students being asked not to attend the next game.
There are no new guidelines. For the safety of players, referees and fans, it is good to go over the guidelines each year with your children:
1. All students are expected to sit and watch the ballgame
2. All students are to remain in the building; not to play outside or in other parts of the building
3. For the enjoyment of all spectators, restroom and concession breaks are limited to quarter breaks and between games, whether in the stands or on the stage.
4. No students are allowed on the upper bleachers unless within arm's reach of their parents.
